Road report submitted by Justin Long This month, we mostly worked on keeping the roads and turnarounds plowed and sanded with the storms we have received. Plowed the town hall twice. Moving into February, we are in the middle of the winter maintenance schedule. We will keep monitoring the roads and plow/sand when needed. Officer Spencer Stack talks with the Board. Brian Long discusses Intrepid Road. Discussion regarding the Grant for Intrepid, whether to turn it down or continue to hold on to the Grant. The matter will be placed on the March Agenda. Driveway policy reviewed and approved. Motion by Brian Long to approve the Driveway policy and Ordinance 2025-02. Seconded by Tony Platz. Motion carried. Brian Long discusses the Bridge on Grouse Road. Stated Gladen Construction will be willing to replace the tie bar. Discussion followed. Noxious weeds tabled until the March meeting. Safety Deposit Box tabled until the March meeting. Brian Behrens discusses Sentence to Serve donation. Recommended $1412.50. for the work done in 2024. Donation for Sentence to Serve for Equipment Fund. Motion by Tony Platz and Seconded by Brian Long for a donation of $1412.50 for the Equipment Fund for Sentence to Serve. Motion carried. Brian Long discusses Budget. Suggests an increase of $20,000.00 for the Road and Bridge fund for 2026. Budget will be discussed at the March meeting. Road report submitted by Justin Long worked on in Lake Emma Township in February:

We worked on keeping the roads and turnarounds plowing and sanded with the snow we have received. We also took advantage of the warmer temperatures and spent time scraping the ice off the roads.

Plowed the town hall twice.

Moving into March, we are nearing the end of the winter maintenance schedule.

 

            Brian Long received a call from a resident regarding driveway, Discussion followed.

            Brian Long discusses Gladen Construction Bid regarding the bridge on Grouse Road.

Gladen Construction submitted a bid for $5800.00.  Long Construction will look at the bridge and give us an estimate to fix the bridge. Discussion followed.

           

            Brian Long discusses the Grant for Intrepid.  The Grant for Intrepid deadline is April 20, 2028. Discussion followed.

           

            Brian Long discusses Noxious Weeds. Discussion followed. An Inspection will be done in June.

           

            Motion by Brian Long to take all previous names off the safety deposit box and add Brian Behrens, Tony Platz, Brian Long, Krystina Rice, Nanette Iles. Second, by Tony Platz. Motion carried.

Discussion regarding CTAS report. We will discuss the matter in May.

 

Road report submitted by Justin Long - Due to the late season snowstorms, we are mostly focused on keeping the roads plowed and sanded. We have also been spending time plowing and scraping the gravel. roads with graders since everything is pretty thawed out.

Cleaned up some of the trees and brush that the heavy, late season snow has knocked down.

Moving into April, we are hopefully nearing the end of the winter maintenance schedule. We will keep monitoring the roads and plow/sand when needed.

Terry Long discusses the bridge on Grouse Road. He is still looking into the matter. Brian will contact Gladen Construction regarding not needing their services.

 

The Spring Road Tour will be on May 29th at 3:30 PM.

 

Michael Solien submitted a petition for driveway access. Discussion followed. The board has approved the application and petition for a new driveway.

Motion by Brian Long to approve the application and petition for a new driveway for Decision Hills LLC/ Michel Solien. Second, by Tony Platz. Motion carried.

Road report submitted by Justin Long, Did some snowplowing on hopefully the last snowstorm of the season.

We have started grading the roads (including the base one roads) for the summer maintenance schedule.

We have also started sweeping and crack sealing the blacktop roads.

Moving into May, we should be officially done with winter and into the summer maintenance schedule. We will finish with the crack sealing and continue the regular maintenance of the roads

Second, by Tony Platz. Motion carried. Road report submitted by Justin Long, here are the things we worked on in Lake Emma Township in June Normal grading when the weather allowed. We will also continue to monitor the base one roads and the sections that have the Durablend on them. Finished the first round of mowing (top cut). Removed the boulders that were in the right-of-way on Green Pines and Garnet. Cut down and cleaned up some leaning trees on Hunter and 270th. We also had some tree cleanup due to the heavy storms we have been receiving. Moving into July, we are now into the summer maintenance schedule. We will continue with normal road maintenance. Discussion followed. A resident has a question regarding property along Hunter Road to County Road 7. Discussion followed. Driveway applications filed by Mike Marjamaa. Discussion followed. Motion by Brian Long to approve Driveway applications filed by Mike Marjamaa on Half Moon Rd. They will be designated as permit # 1 and permit #2. Both driveways shall have culverts installed. Second, by Tony Platz. Motion carried. The Board discusses the Mantrap Road agreement. The Board decided they will not sign the new agreement, they will continue with the agreement signed on December 10, 1996. Michel Solien questions removal of Vegetation. Motion by Tony Platz to approve the Treasurer's Report for the Month ending July 01, 2025. Second, by Brian Long. Motion carried.

 

Road report submitted by Justin Long, Normal grading when the weather allowed. We were also able to grade all the base one roads, except the sections with Durablend on them.

Spent some time cleaning up trees that were knocked over by the numerous severe storms we have had this summer.

Moving into August, we are still in the summer maintenance schedule. We will continue with normal road maintenance.

Brian Behrens questions when we will start grading Intrepid. Terry Long stated that they will start grading once we get a decent rain.

 

Mantrap Township Road agreement. Mantrap Township would like to upgrade the agreement. Kim Olson will upgrade the new agreement. The matter tabled until September.

 

Tom VanBruggen discussed a matter on Gunner Road. Discussion followed.

 

Brian Long discusses a phone call he received regarding tree trimming on Grouse Road. Brain let the property owner know we would be doing trimming this fall.

 

Hunter Road was discussed. There are several easements along the road.
